Behaviour Consultations

I AM NOT CURRENTLY TAKING ON NEW BEHAVIOUR CLIENTS

Dogs that need a behaviour consultation must be referred by a vet, prior to your appointment being made.

Referrals

The following steps are needed to make sure that CBPC has as much information as possible on you and your dog. This allows us to make an accurate diagnosis and training plan.

Step 1: Please contact your vet and get them to fill in the referral form below and email it to info@caninebehaviourandphysioclinic.com along with your dog’s medical history.

Step 2: Book your first appointment which will be an online history taking appointment. Please email me for the booking link.

Your appointment will only be able to go ahead, if we have also received your vet referral.

The majority of appointments are held at Canine Behaviour Clinic, Sutton Fields, Chester Road, Runcorn, WA7 3EY. This is an outside venue, so appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn.

Appointments can sometimes be held at your home or local area, however this is dependent on the problem and location. There is an additional charge of 0.45p per mile to cover travel costs. Appointments can also be offered online.

INSURANCE

If your dog is insured, I recommend that you speak to them to see if they will cover behaviour treatment. If they do, then give them my qualifications to make sure that they will cover me (different insurance companies have different organisations that they want behaviourists to be accredited with). It is your responsibility to make sure that your insurance company will cover treatment with me specifically.

My qualifications are:

  • BSc (Hons) in Bio-Veterinary Sciences from University of Liverpool

  • MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare from University of Edinburgh

  • Accredited member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) membership number: 01481

  • Member of the Dog Behaviour and Training Charter

  • Practioner of the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) as an Animal Training Instructor (ATI)

  • PGDip in Veterinary Physiotherapy from University of Nottingham

  • Accredited member of The Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP)

Behaviour Consultation

  • 1-hour Follow Up Appointment (usually held 4-6 weeks after the diagnostic appointment) where we can talk about any problems that you are experiencing and work on the training plan given. This is a practical based appointment.
